Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9-inch cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a small bowl, mix 1 Tbsp of granulated sugar, 2 tsp of all-purpose flour, and the sesame seeds.
In a mixing bowl, beat the remaining granulated sugar and butter on medium speed until creamy (about 2 minutes). Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
In a separate bowl, mix the queso and cream together and set aside.
In another bowl, whisk together the remaining all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the flour mixture and queso mixture to the batter, alternating between them and beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and top liberally with the sesame seed mixture.
Bake until golden brown and mostly set but still slightly wiggly in the middle, about 40 minutes.
Remove from the oven, let cool before serving. ☺️
