I still want to help people. I just donโ€™t know how.

I donโ€™t know why this is the memory that comes to mind, but it did, so Iโ€™ll let it flow. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cop. And then a lawyer. I thought they had it all together. I could never stand seeing people get hurt.

Itโ€™s so ironic, because I ended up hurting people, being arrested by cops, and convicted by lawyers.

The very first fistfight I got into was when I was eight. I came around the corner of our apartment building and saw one kid hitting another. The kid being hurt was crying, but the other kept going. Worse, there were adults cheering him on.

I jumped in, literally. I loved karate movies, so I jump-kicked him, lol. I broke my glasses in the process and ran home crying to my brother. He was older and took me back. Then he beat the kid up.

I still want to help people. I just donโ€™t know how.
