I worked in graphic arts printing. I ran a printing press, and I was very good at it.

When I was 16, I walked into the bathroom and saw my mom shooting up meth. I asked her if I could try it, and she said, โ€œGo for it.โ€ I was slow growing up; I wasnโ€™t like the other kids. So I started stealing cars, and then, in 1995, I did some wrong things to people. I got 25 to life under the Three Strikes law. I have been down for 30 years now. I go to the board on July 10, 2025, and Iโ€™m hoping to get a date. Over the years, Iโ€™ve learned a lot about people in prison. I have met some good advocates in the prisons Iโ€™ve been to. From 2000 to 2003, I worked in graphic arts printing. I ran a printing press, and I was very good at it. I have eleven trades in graphic arts, and I am very proud of that accomplishment. Iโ€™ve been to eight prisons in California. I have been off drugs for 30 years now. I donโ€™t touch that stuff anymore. I have met all kinds of people in prison, both bad and good. I have never been married, and I donโ€™t have any kids. All my family has passed away. I remember the last letter I got from my grandmaโ€”she told me she would save me the drumstick for when I got out of prison. Sadly, she passed away in 2012, and my grandpa passed away right after her. I want to get out and pay my last respects at my familyโ€™s graves. I think I have done my time for my crime, ten times over. Right now, Iโ€™m on a good yard here at Salinas Valley. Iโ€™m finally on a Level Three yard, and itโ€™s different being in a lower-level yard. I am a little slow, so please be understanding of my story. I hope you understand everything I wrote. Please check the spelling for me. The picture Iโ€™m sending is the only one I have, sorry itโ€™s not that good. In the past, officers lost all my property, and everything was gone. I had to start all over. Please be safe out there. With respect. Brian
