Healing is a Life Process

I deserve you, so I received you.

You are my blessing and my curse.

I gave you my heart, you kept it safe—until you didn’t.

I don’t blame you. It’s not your fault.

I apologize for leaving your side.

For now, only time will tell if you’re the one for me.

But for now, you can still do as you please.

If I can grow and shine without your help,

Please don’t bind us with the loyalty of our son.

As a man, I have become who I am,

A father I certainly will be.

A friend to you, indeed— you’ve already won that.

But to call you my ride or die, that was up to you.

Honestly, you left me abandoned, shattered, and hurt.

As a man, I hold no grudges. My only wish is blessings for you.

Solitary Confinement

Tonight, though I sleep in solitary confinement,

I find emotions I hide,

Scared to show the world, doubting it might hurt my pride.

But tonight, though I sleep with my lonely thoughts,

I find it easy to embrace the feelings and emotions of hard times.

Stitches, battle scars, war wounds—

A reminder that only the strong survive.

Hell ain’t nothing, compared to life.

So Allah, protect me, ‘cause it’s rough.

I’m ready for wherever.

I don’t even fear death anymore.

In search of support, love, and care,

Someone I can trust for life.

Tonight, though I sleep in solitary confinement,

I smile and laugh—a reminder

That my current situation is not my final destination.
