Seeing someone earn their GED in my neighborhood growing up was remarkable—it felt like witnessing the impossible. One of my proudest achievements was earning my Associate degree. When I entered prison without finishing high school, I didn’t care if I ever completed it. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d earn a college degree. Yet, not only did I achieve it, but I also made the President’s or Dean’s List every semester. However, what I’m most proud of is writing and publishing my book, Born From Abandonment: A Philosophy Forged in Prison. Seeing people from around the world reading my book fills me with pride. My goal was to share my knowledge with as many people as possible, and I am deeply GRATEFUL that I am achieving that.
