Iโ€™m learning that there is a much better life out there beyond those gates than the one Iโ€™ve always lived.

I have a 1.5 year-old son. Iโ€™m from Sticks, a small town in Mississippi called Dennis. Iโ€™ve been incarcerated since last November. In this dark time of my life, I sat down and it was then that I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. On November 12, 2024, I fully gave my life to Jesus. He has been working on me and my life for as long as I can remember, but now He has my full attention. I am currently seven months sober. Iโ€™m receiving visits from my family and my son. Iโ€™m housed in the incentive zone on the womenโ€™s side of the compound. I attend long-term alcohol and drug classes, as well as classes to get my high school diploma. I also work part-time as a dog sitter. Iโ€™ve met great, God-fearing women who love Jesus. Iโ€™m learning that there is a much better life out there beyond those gates than the one Iโ€™ve always lived. God has a plan for me, and I wholeheartedly trust Him and lean on His unfailing promises. Thank you for your time. I enjoyed writing a portion of my lifelong testimony. It is never too late to change.
