Her children call me Uncle Manny, and that gives me the fuel and drive I need to survive, to keep going with resilience.
I have been friends with this woman since we were in elementary school. She has stuck with me through thick and thin. I am in awe of the fact that she has ridden with me throughout this entire term. I’ve seen her survive two divorces. We’ve remained friends no matter how difficult our lives got. She allowed me to be a part of her children’s lives. Her children call me Uncle Manny, and that gives me the fuel and drive I need to survive, to keep going with resilience. She says that we’ll always be friends forever, and I wholeheartedly believe that. She has helped me with gas money for my bike. I have helped her with whatever she needed done in the house. She helped me get my Harley when I paroled the first time. I’ve helped her with the children whenever she needed. Our relationship has been built on mutual understanding and respect, and that’s the number one thing I adore about her. I am proud to have someone I can truly say is my friend, and I hope my friendship will always mean as much to her.
