On our way home, I saw how determined this man was to prepare the House of God so that he could have people come there to listen to him spread God’s good news.
My uncle woke me and two cousins up on a Saturday morning. He said get ready because we are going to the next town to fix up my church. My cousins and I were a little upset, but we knew that my uncle meant business. Once we got onto the road, we made jokes about the project and journey. Once we got there, we worked on the small building, cleaned the yard up real good, and supported my uncle to the core as he raised all three of us and was a hard-working person.
He took us to a chicken store called Popeyes in Newark, New Jersey, and we grabbed some biscuits with three pieces of chicken a piece. On our way home, I saw how determined this man was to prepare the House of God so that he could have people come there to listen to him spread God’s good news. It was a good day.
