I was charged with first-degree murder and was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. I was 27 when I got locked up.

All this happened when I found my wife with her boyfriend. I wish that day would never have happened.

I would not be here if I had never come home that night and just stayed at the bar. There is so much I have missed out on: my two kids, ages 9 and 7. I don’t get to see them because my ex-wife saw on the news that I was being charged with First Degree Murder of my new wife. It hurts me to know what I did to be locked up, having nobody to talk to, and no family. It makes me sad.

I want to live and be a good dad to my kids; everyone messes up sometimes, but we must live with what we did and make the best out of it.

You read it. You keep it.

Every piece comes from someone serving a sentence. Every piece reminds you they are so much more than that.
