Just hearing and seeing someone do all that time and still smile, laugh, and keep learning was amazing!

I just came across this organization on my tablet through the Edovo App about two months ago. I was watching the interviews on Live From Inside and came across one that saved my life. I hope she doesn’t mind me saying thanks for motivating me, but it was a woman named Felicia at the Taconic Correctional Facility. Just hearing and seeing someone do all that time and still smile, laugh, and keep learning was amazing!

I have been incarcerated since I was 17 years old and have taken loss after loss until I felt I would never win. But I made the choice to go forward. I started taking classes and got certified as a nursing care assistant and in bystander CPR. I’m involved in a rehabilitation program and working on a book series.

One important thing I have learned from this organization is that doing better comes from making the choice to do better.
