I’m no longer the same person I was when I came in. I now have the tools to love myself and be a better person.

Iโ€™m not really good with words, I’m still learning. Throughout my childhood, there were things that happened, things that never should have, that left me confused. At the age of 14, I started drinking. It felt like the only way to cope. I couldn’t tell anyone what I was going through, so I bottled it in, feeling rejected and misunderstood. That led me to make bad decisions. I hit rock bottom in 2016. I was arrested during one of the hardest times of my life, to the point where I didn’t want to live anymore. Back in that jail cell, I found a Bible. I started reading it. I prayed, and I started to follow Jesus. I’m clean and sober. I’m no longer the same person I was when I came in. I now have the tools to love myself and be a better person. Thank you for letting me share a little bit of my story.
