Where There Is a WILL, There Is a WAY
A wise man once said, Where there is a WILL, there is a WAY. I believe anything is possible for a person who has the will to succeed, for with that willpower they will find a way to succeed. An example of this can be seen in my willpower to complete all the advanced paralegal courses that are offered by the accredited Blackstone Career Institute through the mail.
I saved up my money from my prison job and paid the $885 for the main paralegal course and completed it. I wanted to then take and complete all ten of the advanced paralegal courses, but I did not have the funds to afford them. Still, I was determined to accomplish this.
I got my family to sponsor my first advanced paralegal course in the subject of personal injury and torts. It was my Christmas and birthday present from my family. I completed the course with a 99.16% grade point average.
With my determination to complete all ten advanced paralegal courses, I started writing to numerous people and organizations asking for their sponsorship to fund my education. I wrote the Governor of South Dakota, senators, congressman, and others, but all they replied was to wish me luck, if they even replied at all. It was discouraging, but I would not give up. I would find a way to take all these advanced paralegal courses.
I am a member of the American Legion Post 323 in Springfield, South Dakota. When I was at one of the meetings, I asked if the American Legion Post 323 would sponsor me and pay the $409.50 enrollment cost for the advanced paralegal course in criminal law. We all discussed it, and a vote was taken to approve my request for sponsorship. I completed the criminal law course with a 100% grade point average.
Recently, I settled a federal civil rights and breach of contract lawsuit with South Dakota Department of Corrections employees in the case Bell v. Tjeerdsma, et al., 4:24 cv 04068 KES. As part of the settlement, it was agreed that I would get funds to pay for the remaining eight advanced paralegal courses, and I would be allowed to retain all materials from Blackstone Career Institute paralegal courses and keep them in my possession.
I am currently waiting on more of the paralegal courses to arrive.
Where there is a will, there is a way to succeed in any course of action or goal a person has. Here, I succeeded in getting the education I wanted by setting a goal and putting in the effort to succeed until I accomplished my objective of getting legal knowledge and education. Each and every one of you reading this can accomplish anything you put your mind to, just as I did by putting forward the effort and being intrepid in your pursuit of your goals. It is true. Where there is a will, there is a way to succeed in anything you want to accomplish.
Reach for the stars. Nothing is impossible to those who will try and intrepidly succeed with their willpower.
