I no longer wish to act or react out of hurt; instead, I want to continue growing and sharing my true self.

What I love most about myself is my ability to step out of my own way, mentally. Before coming to prison, I couldn’t read or write, and it used to weigh on me heavily. But once I began to trust and love myself, I was able to achieve many of the goals I set for myself. Some of those goals included earning my high school diploma, getting into college, and most importantly, reconnecting with my family. With those milestones accomplished, I feel ready to open up more and let new people into my life. I no longer wish to act or react out of hurt; instead, I want to continue growing and sharing my true self.
