I have been locked up since 1996 when I was 20.
It has been a difficult road, and I have at least a few years left to go, but what I can tell you is simply this: it is possible. It is possible to rise above the negativity of this place and reach for something better. It is possible to find a meaningful purpose within prison but you have to want it, you have to do it. I have been both fortunate and dedicated enough to have published several books. The latest in Next Level Sudoku, a collection of giant mind bending puzzles.
I am the editor of the book institutionalized: Mental Health Behind Bars. and the author of the novel Dog Days, I am also the co-author with Thorstein Mayfield of Vegisir, The Rune Book, the Heather Study Course.
The challenge to publishing from inside prison are steep but not instrumental, perseverance and iron will tear down walls.
Change is in your hands.
With respect
