My book was inspired by Deborah Tobola, my writing instructor in the Page to Stage program supported by the William James Association, part of the Arts in Corrections. Deborah gave us writing prompts, some related to the coronavirus pandemic and others covering a wide range of topics. My connection to writing began with the Page to Stage program in 2018. We wrote poetry that was turned into scripts and performed as plays. I’ve performed in three plays on stage.
