Mary's Chicken Chow Mein

Ingredients
  

  • 2 packages boneless chicken
  • 1 bag bean sprouts
  • 1 package noodles frozen
  • 1 bag snow peas
  • 1 can small water chestnuts
  • 1 can small bamboo shoots
  • 1 each ginger root

Instructions
 

  • Cut the boneless chicken into bite-sized pieces. Flour chicken pieces in a separate plate with flour. Fry chicken pieces in a skillet or frying pan at medium heat until golden brown.
  • Place fried chicken pieces in a large pot. Add four cups of water. Cook at medium heat on burner on stove.
  • Cut noodles in half. Fry noodle halves in a skillet or frying pan at medium heat until golden brown. Add fried noodles to large pot.
  • Add bean sprouts to large pot.
  • Add snow peas to large pot.
  • Add water chestnuts to large pot.
  • Add bamboo shoots to large pot.
  • Slice ginger root into small slices and add to large pot. (Too much ginger root will spoil the taste.)
  • Add 3 cups of water to the large pot. Stir with a long-handled spoon.
  • Simmer 40 minutes at medium heat.
