Three rounds of chemotherapy, back to back, six hours per day. Each round was 45 days long, with a total of nine months of hospitalization and treatments. Zero contact with family or friends.
Nothing is promised. I was admitted to Renown Medical Center March 3rd, 2025, diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. I was discharged September 6th, 2025. Currently in recovery and in remission.
Being hospitalized while incarcerated, especially being young and residing around children and elderly people, has changed my entire perspective on life. The main thing I have learned in the past 15 months, apart from patience, is appreciation.
Let the past go. Appreciate now. Focus and just appreciate being here. Nothing is promised.
I hope my story is used as a symbol. Never give up.
