What makes me happy is when we find homes for the dogs and outside families adopt them.

I am a trainer with the Valley State Prison Dog Program. Thanks to Carol and Tony Gallegos. I love being a dog trainer because it helps me develop love, compassion and empathy for the dogs. These dogs come from a shelter; they have been abused and left for dead. In ten weeks, we train them for service work and to be good companions. They love and want to be accepted. What makes me happy is when we find homes for the dogs and outside families adopt them. โ€œThese dogs show love because they see and feel the love that is given to them. I’ve learned a lot from my dog trainer, Mike Fimbres and others like Chase, JR, Wayne, and Brian. I know itโ€™s going to be hard to say goodbye to our dog โ€œBrownie,โ€ whoโ€™s in training, but after her graduation, I will be so glad for her because I know sheโ€™s going to make some family happy and well-deserved for everyone.
