Teaching me how to walk, how to talk, how to dress,

How to be my best!โ€ฆ Damn I was BLESSED!

HOME

When I think of home, I think of my motherโ€™s cooking, going to all the Dodgers’ games with my Dad, and all the fun we had.

Family get-togethers, the annual summer family trip, my G.I. Joe with the Kung-Fu grip.

Friday night dinners when my dad got paid.

The playground where I played. I remember putting a whole box of sugar in the Kool-Aid!

Going to church on Sunday, trying to find somewhere to sit, getting my first Denver permit.

When I think of home, I think of my Hot Wheels set, my go-kart, my dirt bike, my parents buying all the stuff I like!

Teaching me, if you walkโ€ฆ you can get it.

Teaching me ethics, manners, respect.

Teaching me how to walk, how to talk, how to dress,

How to be my best!โ€ฆ Damn I was BLESSED!

See, I grew up during a time when you

Were home before the streetlight came on

A time when it wasnโ€™t against the law

Or your parents

To beat your ass if you didnโ€™t take out the trash,

Or for talking back, or getting out of line.

HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?

HOME.
