I want to see all inmates go home, especially the guys who have been in prison all their lives like myself.
We have been off lockdown and are finally programming again. I am happy to say the troublemakers are being weeded out since they want to get high on spice and keep making the yard go down over and over. It is not fair to the rest of us who are programming. I spoke with my counselor, and he told me I have an annual coming up in November. My points will be dropping down to 49, which means I could go to a level two prison. Man, I have come this far. In 35 years, I have never been on a level two yard. To me, that is closer to freedom 🙂. He asked me where I would like to go. I hear San Quentin level two is sweet, and so is California Men’s Colony level two. I cannot wait to get out of here. By the time I get transferred, I will be finished with my second Substance Abuse class. As for graduation, I am not tripping. I will be happy just receiving my certificate. It is not easy at first, but when you start letting go of anger, it does get easier. I noticed my thinking was changing. I want to see all inmates go home, especially the guys who have been in prison all their lives like myself. I chose to change everything, and I really do not care what others think about me for dropping out of the gang. I am sending two photos of me and my cellie, Jose. We have been cellies for about a year, and we have known each other for a few years. Anyway, he is also doing life, but he has a good head on his shoulders. He is very smart and is there for me. I wish I had someone like him years ago. I am also keeping his spirits up, letting him know that if he keeps up the good work, he will get out early. Laws are changing. We help each other through tough times.
